Salt and Pepper Shakers

During the process of designing these salt and pepper shakers, I began my search for meaningful forms by exploring the formal relationship between masculine and feminine forms.

I was intrigued by the relationship between dominance and passivity.
Clay models used earlier in the process to explore physical pairings between geometric shapes.
The final models chosen. In the final forms I sought to express a dominant feminine figure and a passive masculine figure.
